Stop Emotional Eating

sugary dessert with brownie and ice creamDoes food occupy your mind?  This is a hard question for many of us who struggle with emotional eating. Sometimes the strongest food cravings come at our weakest emotional state.  Food may be a comfort, either consciously or unconsciously, when we face difficult problems, feel stressed or bored.

Major life events can also trigger negative emotions that lead to eating emotionally, such as:

  • Health Problems
  • Work Problems
  • Fatigue
  • Financial Problems
  • Relationship Conflicts

We may automatically reach for a treat when we’re stressed without thinking about what we’re doing. Also, eating comfort food may become a distraction and preferable to dealing with a painful situation.

When emotions cause us to overeat, the end result is always temporary.  Emotions  return and we then feel guilt for getting off-track our weight loss goals.

The good news is if you have a tendency to eat emotionally, you can take steps to get back on track and regain control of your eating habits and weight loss goals:

  • Reduce stress with Hypnosis, meditation or deep breathing.
  • Give cravings time to pass.
  • Lean on friends and family for support.
  • Remove temptation by keeping hard to resist foods out of your home.
  • Eat healthy snacks.
  • Enjoy a variety of foods.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool to help you quickly overcome emotional eating.  Take back control of your life today – of your habits, behaviors and feelings that move you in a positive direction in life.
